“Vanessa Steele needs to get away from Charlotte before Cameron Cody comes to town. Her sister Cheyenne lives in Jamaica and has asked Vanessa to house sit while she is gone. However Cameron has decided that he is tired of waiting for Vanessa so he buys the house next door. The sexual tension is so thick between the two you could cut it with a knife. When Vanessa learns that Cameron has purchased the house next door she proposes a two week fling with no regrets and when they return home no getting together. Cameron agrees hoping he can convince Vanessa that she is the one for him. Read this exciting book to find out how they get together ”Shirley H wrote this review Sunday, January 16, 2011. “Like all the books in this series it was a must read. Couldn't wait for Vanessa to see the light and get the man who wanted her and would go to any lengths to get her. Can't see what Brenda Jackson has next in store.”Sandra G wrote this review Thursday, September 16, 2010. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Cameron Cody once tried to acquire Steele Corporation. He was unsuccessful, and eventually became friends and business partners with the Steele brothers. But their cousin Vanessa Steele, also an owner, had never forgiven him the takeover attempt.
Cameron is frustrated that Vanessa has insisted on carrying a grudge, because he wants to get to know her much, much better, and she is actively avoiding him.
So he goes to extremes - finding out that she is house sitting in Jamaica, he buys the vacant property next door, and sets out with deliberate intent to seduce.
Will it be just an island fling, or might there be a HEA for the two of them?”
“I read this book of the Steele sisters because of another book I read. I enjoyed it to a point. The heroine, Vanessa didn't like Cameron because he was trying to take over her family's business. Her family had long forgiven him, and have become friends but she couldn't forget what he did. Cameron intends to make her his wife and will stop at nothing to do that.He is dealing with a sore loser from a company he took over, and Vanessa thought he was ruthless still reading everything on the Internet about it. She thought that was who he was as a person. Cameron turned out to be a good guy and it was almost too late for her to see it. Luckily she chased him at the end and apologized and she saw first hand in an almost tragic way that Cameron was not the man she had thought he was. Good read.”CarolynD wrote this review Monday, December 14, 2009. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“This story is the first female Steel story - Vanessa. Vanessa is the only sibling/cousin that works for the Steele Corporation and has had animosity towards Cameron Cody since he tried to takeover the Steele Company. Though he did not succeed in acquiring the company, Cameron has become obsessed with possessing what he considers will be his most assets. Vanessa is not interested in being acquired, dominated, or possessed by Cameron; but she does feel the strong attraction to him. I loved the fact that Morgan Steele (from Beyond Temptation and my favorite Steele brother. It's amazing that I am saying that. I have never chosen a favorite in any other BJ series, but Morgan Steele has placed himself about the other Steele brothers for me.) Oh, I got off track. I love the fact the Morgan was behind Cameron and helped in him along the way. Vanessa Steele hears Cameron is coming to town and jumps at the chance to get away - running away is what she's planning. Running for nothing is what she ends up doing. Cameron finds out and purchases the home next door to her sister's - where she is house-sitting. Cameron offers Vanessa a chance to experience the pleasures they both want without the long-term commitment hoping that if she gets to know him she won’t be able to walk away.
There is a story at the end of the book for anyone who has read Night Heat. There is resolution for Leah and Reese.”
