“The hero is an American anthropologist investigating a mysterious Irish location, and catches sight of an improbable heroine—who is actually one of the fey. A princess, in fact, and named heir of the faery queen. She’s somehow watched him since they were both children, and has fallen in love with him from a distance, but the queen isn’t about to let her heir marry a mortal. However, if he passes three tests, like a hero from one of the old tales, then she will allow their love. There’s also danger in the faery universe and betrayal and good stuff. Of course he passes the tests, proving his love—definitely a book worth hunting down. ”
