At times, entertaining, but it just can't summon any of the awe it must have inspired a hundred years ago.

This is my most favorite story of all time. My wuderlust and imagination came alive when I first read this book only about ten years ago. Since then I have collected several versions and also found a competitor to Phileas Fogg's bet, called "Around the World in 78 Days" written by a British newspaper columnist named Nicholas Coleridge. His story is very amusing, even though he didn't have a detetective following him or a bumbling servant missing the next boat.
