This is a truly excellent book, applying the practical wisdom of three ancient Stoic philosophers, Epictetus a slave, Seneca the statesman and Marcus Aurelius the ruler of Rome to modern day life. The book expresses that although these three philosophers come from very different social backgrounds, their common Stoic ideas can still apply to any situation. Stoic philosophy is the core of all self help. Covey's proactive habit or Tony Robins controlling emotions really are very Stoic ideas that Epictetus, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius said over 2000 years ago.
