I was shocked by how he just mentioned NSA so openly. Having lived on Ft Meade while growing up I remembered all the secrecy and restrictions. It really surprised me how Clancy just discussed it like it was normal to talk about the nation's central for secrets. I remember being shocked by the ending and then on 9/11/01 thinking OMG Clancy wrote this exact scenario. It really blew my mind.”

I mean seriously. Japan declaring war on the United States? Again?
Pure drek.”
“Tom Clancy books are pretty good. Lots of action, but I have to skip all the technical stuff & the descriptions of the characters. The first mention that someone is beautiful, handsome, strong, honor bound, etc. is enough.
The action parts are good though. Lots of intrigue.”
“Considering this was written 12 years ago, it was spooky to read it in October 2008 and relate it to the current economic issues. Parts were too detailed and too technical and some parts shifted scenes so quickly that it was difficult to follow, but that's just Clancy's style. When the plot reaches a climatic point, he will shift quickly between parties to heighten the anticipation as much as he can. This isn't my favorite Clancy but it is quite good. Oh..and it has the most shocking ending of any of his books. ”
