I know my sisters and friends all swoon over Mr. Darcy, but Heathcliff is my favorite. He is a dark and tortured soul whose passion and obsession lead him and those he loves down the road to destruction.

If only Cathy wouldn't have been so fickle and superficial . . . that story wouldn't pass my decency muster, though.

PS. Rumor has it Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are set to star in the remake next year. I only hope it remains true to the original. I dont want to see anything MORE than just sexual tension between the two of them. No rollicking about on the moors, if you know what I mean!

Read this as part of a grad class and shockingly, enjoyed it. Yes it is a romance but who cares? I'm perfectly secure in my masculinity!

    I believe it's wonderful.
I think the moral is that revenge doesn't always pay to be good.

An intresting book, but it could end better than this.
