This book talks about the authors life during his time spent in China training in Shaolin, fighting in a tournament, and discovering techniques that make a body part as hard as iron. The narrator learns about the life of the average china man and buddhist monks, as well as finds a man who has trained in the ways of the iron crotch. This book was very intresting and made me not want to put it down. Reading about the Iron crotch, as well as other techniques the author learned was very intresting and i loved this book.

I couldn't put this down! It was very fun to read, not too intellectual. I never had any interest in China, but Matt did a great job recounting his personal experience in China.

Loved this book, recommend it as an excursion into China pre-corporatization. As much a cultural voyage as a memoir.

This book reads like fiction! I recommend it to anyone who likes biographies, martial arts and laughing outloud.

Loved this book. For someone who has a working knowledge of martial arts and Chinese culture this memoir helped fill in the void. The ins and outs or capitalism coming to China and the author's expectations make for a very good read and help to really educate the reader on what modern day China looks like.
