  “when i read this with my mom the movie was just coming out in japan. i hardly under stand what it was saying with all the hard words, but now i realize this is a very good book”

  “Easily one of Diana Wynne Jones best works. She has a really good way of grabbing you and bringing you into her world. I must say however if you love this book PLEASE do not watch the Studio Ghibli film. I normally love Ghibli's work but this has to be the worst conversion from a book to a film. Totally changed the plot and I understand Ms Jones was not in the least happy with it!”
