He realizes that he is missing a button, therefore he needs to find his button. So he climbs down in the middle of the night but as he is looking for it, he knocks over a lamp and a night watchman hears the crash, finds Corduroy, and takes his back down to his shelf. The next day, Corduroy is finally bought and the little girl replaces his button. This book would be for level two readers because there is a lot of dialogue within the story. ”

Unfamiliar with the world outside of his little shelf where he lives, Corduroy is awestruck by the fascinating things he encounters on his journey. When he is sure he has found his button on a mattress inside a palace, he is discovered by the nightwatchman.

“This book is appropriate for thrid graders who love adventure and imagination. This book is about a teddy bear named Curduroy who is being sold at a department store. A young girl comes in and wants to buy him but her mother says that he is missing a button and that she has already spent enought money for the day. That night Corduroy sets out on an adventure to other locations in the store to find a button. He never finds one before a security guard finds him and places him back into the toy section. The next day the young girl comes back with her own money and buys him and takes him home and fixes his button.”

She went to the store with her mom and when she found him she wanted to buy him. The next time Lisa went back to the store and bought Corduroy with the money she had saved. This book is good for younger elementary to read on their own because they like reading about stuffed animals and being friends. ”
