“I would use this story as a read aloud in the class. I would explore the meaning, or the theme, behind the story. This is a classic, and a favorite of mine that I would like to use in my classroom. ”

The subtitle is "How Toys Become Real" I believe. I recall a pink stuffed rabbit that was almost as big as I was. He ended up in the trash can in Tokyo, Japan, because my mother refused to let me take him on the plane (she said he was too big). I cried and cried. It was SUCH a traumatic moment for me, seeing his pink ears sticking up out of the garbage can. Oh, if only he became real...”

“This was my favorite when I was little. So cute, I cried everytime they took away the bunny from the boy. Reminded me of my own little pink rabbit 'Pinky' that I still sleep with (I've had her since I was 5).”
