“ Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is definitely a crowd favorite! It tells the stor yof the people living in the town Chewandswallow. They had a great town! Everyone Morning, afternoon and night it would rain food, so no one ever went hungry. Until one day when something went wrong. Instead of raining normal amounts of food the portions got larger and larger, and they are forced to move! They find some extremely large pieces of stale bread and make rafts and leave Chewandswallow for good.
This book would be great to use for a science or weather lesson for younger children. The books talks a lot about raining soup and snowing mashed potatoes, so it could also be a great time to explain when something is fiction or real. Another idea to use this book in the classroom could be in writing. Have the students write what food they would want to rain everyday and present it to the class. ”
