“I love this book. I like learning and reading about the prairie days. To me if I could pick any person to be in history I'd wanna be her. Her book is very interesting. Laura's childhood was very interesting and she described it so well. I think girls would like this book more than boys. But I recommend this book for everyone. Especially for readers who like historical diaries.”

Andrew B wrote this review 12 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No“In the Big Woods, a small log house lay between 2 oak trees. It was wild and no houses, people could be seen there but Laura, Mary, Baby Carrie and a parent lived in the wild.
Laura, Mary, nor Carrie had seen a busy town anywhere else. They lived in the cozy house listening to his father playing his fiddle, doing chores, and playing.
During butchering in automm, pa hunted deer, bear and made let ma to make venison. Laura loved the venison that she could think of eating whole lot.
On sundays, the whole family could not work, play, laugh or speak. They might speak but not whole lot. It was because of their religion. Mary was so upset that she cried alot. Pa told a story that said that it is not as before in her grandfather's century.
Finally they got a chance to go to the town after grandfathers dance. When they arrived at the town, and shoped, Mary, Laura was so glad that they didn't even say a word. The shoppkeeper made Laura angry because he only said positive things to Mary not Laura. Mary kept saying that she had nicer hair 'cause hers was blonde so Laura slapped her in the face.
The funny thing is that Charles the 11 year old cousin got stung all over his body by BEE!!
It was a nice story but not my favorite.”
