What’s not to love about this book?
The book business, the writers, the publishers and the small and massive books stores.
Wendy Werris isn’t a great writer and to be honest she was too ordinary for me to care for her life story! But by the third chapter I was hooked. She’s such a simple humble soul who saw something interesting in every character she ever met. and I think that’s how we should reflect life.

“I enjoyed this book about this woman's career as a book sales person for more than 35 years. I liked seeing the serendipitous events along the way that got her from her first jobs in book stores into the rare position, in those days, of being a saleswoman. Her anecdotes about her family and the impact on she and her mother of her father being a writer for the Jackie Gleason show among other. She notes friendships, encounters with famous people, mishaps, career gaffes along the way. Toward the end of the book, she reveals a personal trauma in such open detail that I couldn't believe she had held on to it until that point in this memoir. I recommend it.”
