John Wyndham out does himseklf in this post-apocalyptic Science fiction book, probably the best book he wrote and only one coming close to it in popularity being Midwich cuckoos. Wyndham creates a isolated, bleak London in which the threat not only comes from rebel brigands, but the mysterious deadly plants which are the Triffids.
