This book has some of my favorite literary characters of all time. I read it years ago, but I still remember them vividly.

This is my favorite book of all time. It affected me deeply and still does during my periodic rereadings (one of two books I've ever reread). The first 20 pages or so can be hard to get through but stick with it--you won't be sorry.
