And Jo is right there seeing her boys through it. Ready for a cry, hug, laugh, or whatever they need to share. She is the base they all work from.
Yes, victorian. Yes, sweet and idealistic. It is Louisa Alcott. Is there really anything wrong with being sweet and idealistic. Is fatalistic really any better -- and it is such an easy slip from realistic. I think that what I want is for my reality to be an idealistic Louisa May Alcott world. Maybe I have lived in the world of books a bit too much :-).
Maybe it is okay to want it, even okay to work towards it. Just not okay to imagine that it is my life, or that it ever really will be. Just keep it out there as the vision.
I can be Jo. I can be Jo. I can be Jo. I can be Jo. nope, it's not working, I just don't have Louisa here to write all my lines.”
