Wonderful coming of age story of Laura Ingalls Wilder, my favorite writer. Garth Williams illustrations are wonderful as well.”

It kept my interest the whole time and it make me want to read, "The First Four Years," When Laura and Alamonzo get married and have rose. That book as well is a good book to. ”

I thought the book was okay, but I personally liked the earlier books when Laura was a young girl. I did not think this story was not as interesting as some of the earlier books in the series. People who like stories about love, would like this book.”

Also it seems to forget characters we've seen for several books: Mary Power, Minnie, Ida and Cap to focus on newies Florence by the end. Ida is at Laura's wedding, but then Ida is also sort of a newbie as she only turned up in LTotP while Mary and Minnie had been around since The Long Winter. This is less about being a teen and more about being a prairie school teacher and leaving home. It's a bitter sweet book.”

She grows up in this book. Learns to become a school teacher. Endures some difficult relationships to help out her family. I really enjoyed this one.”
