Who doesn't love Anne Shirley, even Mark Twain liked her?!
Anne is a spunky, overly-imaginative, red head orphan, who has a knack for saying way to much, and getting herself into mischief without really trying to. She such a fun character.

I would also suggest watching the PBS videos.

When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert take in a red-haired orphan girl, little do they know how their lives will change. Anne's impulsiveness causes interesting things to happen, but her sincerity and charm make her easy to forgive.

Classic story of an irrepressible orphan adopted by a stern Prince Edward Island brother and sister. She makes many mistakes, gets into a lot of trouble and in time grows to be loved by Marilla and Matthew and into a lovely young woman. Junie B. Jones and Clementine readers will go for this one.

It's really good so far because Anne has like a really bad temper when she gets insulted and it brings a problem into the book when her temper blows out.

A beautiful book to read if you're a growing adolescent.
