Ok... now that I have gotten that out of the way... this book was fabulous. Not surprising considering I have thoroughly enjoyed all of her books. Her characters are crisp and after 15 novels you know them better than you know your own friends and family. Her settings are beautiful and everytime I read one of her books my passion for Alaska is reignited and I obsess over going back!!! I highly recommend the series to anyone- but read it from the beginning to get the full richness of the story and these unforgettable characters.”

And an ending that both surprises and somehow disappoints. Plus, one of the ongoing characters is shot. Lots of twists and turns in this one.”

The communities which were led by the Aunties helped the reader to better understand the the culture with regard to the pecking order. I would be honored to be called one of the Park rats.”

Everyone knows that Louis is responsible for a number of attacks on women in the park. When a murder takes place, it just has to be Louis behind it. Stabenow has written another excellent novel of life in the Alaskan bush.”
