This was an amazing story! At first, the 512pgs. intimidated me because I didn't want to get caught in the middle of the book, and it became boring. However, this book was nothing but exciting, riveting, emotional, and full of twists and turns.

This book talked about an urban love story that is filled with drugs, love, death, addiction, family trials, issues, betrayal, money, success, and failure. The main characters were Jada Ford and Born (Marquis Graham). Jada had a traumatic event that sent her spiraling over the edge into a sexually abusive, drug induced, prostitution, dangerous lifestyle during her teenage years. She eventually got rehab, and met Born and fell in love with him. Born, son of legendary drug kingpin, became a major drug-lord at a young age, and rose to the top in the streets of NY. As his reputation because successful, he met Jada and fell in love with her.

However, because his father ended up dying from his addiction to crack, and falling off of the pedestal as a much respected hustler, Born didn't trust anyone, not even Jada, who vowed to stay away from drugs. Jada ended up going back to the drugged life, influenced by her friend, Sunny, and stole from Born, betraying his already fragile trust. Born and Jada broke up, and her life spiraled even further out of control.

This book brought many emotions, distrust, happiness, sadness, joy, pleasure, and even tears. This book was similar to "The Coldest Winter Ever" by Sistah Souljah, but went deeper into how drugs affect people's lives, and the lives of others, and even ended on a happy note.

I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys urban stories. I would rate this book a 5. This books will be apart of my Top 20 collection. A must read!
