Western Christianity, like the culture and society it is a part of, tends to focus on the rational mind and intellect as the core of the human being and the place where wisdom and faith are found. But Rev. Bourgeault names the heart as a person's center, and utilizes such things as the teachings and practices of Sufi and Christian mystics, Benedictine monasticism, and quantum physics string theory to demonstrate how to get in touch with that center - and the God who dwells there.
