مردی با خود زمزمه کرد "خدایا با من حرف بزن ." یک سار شروع به خواندن کرد. اما مرد نشنید. فریاد بر آورد," خدایا با من حرف بزن" آذرخش در آسمان غرید. اما مرد گوش نکرد. مرد به اطراف خود نگاه کرد و گفت ," خدایا بگذار تو را ببینم." ستاره ای درخشید. اما مرد ندید. مرد فریاد کشید," یک معجزه به من نشان بده." نوزادی متولد شد. اما مرد توجهی نکرد.پس مرد در نهایت یاس فریادزد: "خدایا لمسم کن و بگذار بدانم که اینجا حضور داری." در همین زمان خداوند پایین آمد ومرد را لمس کرد. اما مرد پروانه را با دستش پراند و به راهش ادامه داد

از خدا خواستم عادتهای زشتم را ترک دهد.خدا فرمود: خودت باید آنها را رها کنی .از او درخواست کردم فرزند معلولم را شفا دهد. فرمود :لازم نیست ,روحش سالم است ؛جسم هم که موقت است .از او خواستم لا اقل به من صبر عطا کند. فرمود: صبر ,حاصل سختی و رنج است .عطا کردنی نیست آموختنی است .گفتم: مرا خوشبخت کن. فرمود: "نعمت" از من خوشبخت شدن از تو .از او خواستم مرا گرفتار درد و عذاب نکند. فرمود: رنج از دلبستگی های دنیایی جدا و به من نزدیکترت می کند. از او خواستم روحم را رشد دهد. فرمود: نه تو خودت باید رشد کنی. من فقط شاخ و برگ اضافی ات را هرس می کنم تا بارور شوی. از خدا خواستم کاری کند که از زندگی لذت کامل ببرم. فرمود: برای این کار من به تو "زندگی" داده ام. از خدا خواستم کمکم کند همان قدر که او مرا دوست دارد من هم دیگران را دوست بدارم
.خدا فرمود: آها بالاخره اصل مطلب دستگیرت شد
