INCREDIBLE book! Amazing insights to children's minds/hearts. Watching the parents face their own fears rather than pushing those fears onto their child and watching the child forgive and learn to love himself and his parents is EMPOWERING. Such a good book. Yes, it has a happy ending. It's not weird or gross like the Child Called It. It's all from the therapist's perspective.

This was a very interesting book, following the path of events of an extraordinary boy in search of himself, hence the title. Dibs is a character that anyone would feel close to and interested by easily, and learning his story was very ... nice. I'm glad to have 'meet' Dibs.
And btw, I didn't put it on my 'i'm reading list' for some reason, idk why =/

Non-Fic about a child play therapist & a boy named Dibs.
Some sad bits - made me feel a bit down - but he ended up OK !

Hugely influential in my early imaginings that I would someday maybe teach.

Great book that shows the benifits of play therapy and never giving up on a child's potential...If your a teacher, I definitely recommend this one!

The quintessential case history of how to listen. I trust she did not exaggerate, and I wonder where this person is now.

AS Psychodynamic 'Study in Detail' - a case study of a child going through therapy. This was a humanistic, 'child-centred' therapy, although Dibs' actions can be interpreted psychodynamically. We can contrast this study with Freud's case study of 'Little Hans'.
