“Set over a 24-hr period, Run is the story of a widowed Boston politician, his two adopted sons, and a car accident that brings them into the lives of his sons' sister and mother. This all-in-one-day story needed a tighter rope to make it work for me. The conversation between the two Tennessees was confusing initially. A second reading of it made it the one bright spot in the book.
Too much was made of the statue, for nothing in the end. And book clubs will go on and on about the title: who was running, from and for what and whom.
Did this feel like a screenplay to anyone else?”
