“One good thing I can say about Brand New Cherry Flavor-it ends. This novel and I have been locked in a death spiral for five days now, and I genuinely was not sure which of us was going to crash & burn and which one of us was going to fly away. Only my innate stubbornness allowed me to finish-despite the high praise from James Ellroy on the cover I did not find author Todd Grimson to be a "brilliant prose stylist" but rather another miserable "alternative" writer whose disjointed ramblings have made it into print. Do not waste your time with this one, Constant Reader-I did it for you, and I promise it is not worth it. This novel is full of outrageous sex unlikable characters and rampant drug use and Grimson cannot even make that entertaining-seriously, this book is hopeless and unsatisfactory in every way. ”
