I believe y98ou are wrong. I think this is one of the Patterson "children with wings" fantasy type novels. It is not the book that the Bullock movie is based on.
check the Amazon description of both the book and the movie.

If you like science fiction, or think y ou can stomach it, then go for it. Let the imagination fly like the bird people.

I've read both this and When the wind blows and I have to say, this book is still one of my favorites. The mysterious ending also adds to the intrigue

I just borrowed this book along with several others. I hope it's good. I thought it was about the movie with Keanu Reeves, lol.

This is a sequel to "When the Wind Blows" and one of the best sequel books I've ever read. Sequel books almost always seem go down hill after the first book - However, this one was a delightful surprise. Every bit as enthralling as the first book

Just finished this tonight. I enjoyed this sequel but now feel like there might be another on the horizon. I did like his first of this set better. There seemed to be some missing chapters in this book.
