Book 14 Lucas Davenport, Minnesota BCA. Yet another good audiobook, read by Richard Farrone. This case starts with a lynching/hanging. As Lucas investigates, kidnapping, drug smuggling, and car theft are uncovered. A “true grit” kind of girl, 12-year old Letty, is helpful to Lucas and Del, and becomes a target. As in many of the previous Prey books, we know who the killer is, and the scene shifts to the killer occasionally. Sandford manages to add some empathy for the killer by using this plot device. An involved plot and fast action, as well as well-drawn characters, put Sandford a star above the other mystery series books I have read.

Lucas Davenport and Del investigate the hangings of two people in cold and snowy upstate Minnesota; the investigation uncovers a stolen car ring, drug smuggling, and a deputy run amok; well written

Reading this book was like watching Law & Order, CSI, and NCIS at the same time. SOOOOOOO many characters and unnecessary details. Did not like it!

Very good murder mystery with lost of other stuff going on in this small town. The hanging of a black mand and white woman begin the investigations that lead to the involvement of many people in the town. Of course, who would suspect the police?? I would definitely read more by this author!
