Application framework programming, a widely accepted approach on the Macintosh platform, represents a logical, time-saving and next step in programming for Windows, providing an examination of the technology and its implementation. The book is very well organized and goes very deep into dialog boxes and such. Where it lacks however is in the Document View applications. The author only slightly covers saving files and I found it very confusing and I couldnt find the file that it saved other than using the program that was in the book. Not enough explanation about what the program did and what was going on.
If OLE is what you want , then this is it !

This book is the best one I have ever seen about Visual C++ programming. The author is clear and there is useful samples inside the book. Kruglinski teaches modern techniques about Visual C++ and Windows skills and doesn't forget the Win32 programmers in his explanations. I have done good use of my money with this book !!

Reference one example chapter 15 example a&b but more b has portions that are not even sighted in the text such as CStudentList class, this code fragment is needed for the next 3 chapters. These chapters are highly important to a person learning C++/MFC for the first time, or converting from another system such as OWL. The book is replete with mistakes and a lack of chronological order to the events being taught. Items are called for, then he will introduce them later after there use has aready been needed. A major thumbs down on this one and shame on you to MSPRESS for letting this go to "press" with there name on it. Thank you for this opportunity to voice my utter dissatisfaction and anger for the hours lost trying to discipher his inept attempt at instruction. Perhaps MR. Kluglinski should read some good exaples such as almost anything by Herbert Schildt, Steve McConnell., or Jeffery Richter. Gerald klein codemaster@bigfoot.co
