Don't be fooled by the pretty colored rocks on the cover. This "Buddhist primer" points in a direction that is gaining momentum worldwide, in the direction of a possible reversal of the psychological and spiritual madness afflicting us all. And a stunning convergence of science and ancient thinking.

I'm not really finished reading it. I'm not sure that it's really a book you pick up, start, and finish. I read it sequentially for about 3/4 of the book and plan to read the rest intermittently. The book is SO HUGE and well researched and thoughtful. it really is a very good book, but after months of reading it, digesting it, and contemplating the pages, I start wondering if I should be spending more of my time meditating rather than reading about meditation. Anyway, this book is a keeper. I'll have it for life. My dad recommended it, and I'm grateful, but if it's on a reading list for a class, you'll get frustrated trying to get through it in a short period of time.
