First book I read on my search for truth...for all the skeptics that need the FACTS...well they are here in this book. The facts are out there, but you have to be willing to look into them, that's right TEST your beliefs and understanding. All those questions about who Jesus was were answered in this book when I was fearful of opening up the pages of The Holy Bible. Analytical, theoretical and philosophical...but most of all truth.

Unfortunately I read this book a few years ago and don't remember much about it. A friend of mine let me borrow his book. I can say that it is worth the time to read. After all this is the book that started the series. Plus I have read some other books by Strobel and he seems to always present a solid case especially being a former investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune. This book also more or less presents his testimony of how he came to accept Jesus as God and turned him from being an atheist into an Christian apologist.

I enjoyed this book, but wished it could have been more. I wonder if skeptics really read it or if it's just convincing its readers of what they already believe. While I'm no skeptic, I kept finding flaws in the author's arguments. Maybe it's the lawyer in me, I don't know - because it's certainly not the Christian in me. The author uses Christian sources and scholars to prove most of his points. I kept thinking that such a strategy would hardly convince a skeptic. I felt that he needed to consult "skeptic" scholars and disprove their perspectives in addition to presenting the Christian viewpoints. I just wasn't convinced he'd win his case with a skeptic. But I still enjoyed it.

I have read and re-read this book many times. Every time I read it I pick up something else that I missed before. It is the story of an investigative reported and former atheist who, after objectively examining the evidence for Jesus Christ being who He claimed to be - the Lord; he himself comes to a saving faith in Him.

Finally a factual argument "for" the existence of Christ.

Strobel = Mizzou grad = YAY! Best of it's kind - great for reference - I use the teen version with small groups in my youth group - is well recieved and sparks great discussion. There are reasons why we believe what we believe - you should know them - you should read this book.
