The soft and gentle writing of Ruskin Bond is intoxicating. The simple people described in the book and their mundane experiences are brought out as interestingly and expressively as the adventures of the other Bond-James Bond.

short stories about life in india, takes its reader to an earthy, romantic india, musky smell of rain sodden soil, dusty paths, mustard fields, warmth of village bustle . brings to life early to mid last century with tales of travel, romance, nostalgia and aspirations. night train to deoli has the ability to touch each individual reader in a unique way.

The best thing about all the stories is that it intrigues you, as it keeps your thoughts hanging and makes you think, "what will happen to the character now?"
