Take a right on Sunset Canyon and cruise up into the Hollywood Hills. Take a glance at the gravity-defying homes perched upon the scortched hillsides, restlessly waiting for the next quake or mudslide to deliver them to the promised land. Then, take your car east on Sunset, slowly drive by the motels with the failed actresses out front and past the musicians who will never see a stage in their lives. Take a left on Western and it's another LA. Or is it?

This is some of where we'll live and who we'll live with--Marlowe, Archer, Kyd, Cole, Bosch and more. And, if we so desire, we'll check out Dave Robicheaux in New Ibera or Doc Ford on Sanibel Island or Travis on his houseboat in Florida. It doesn't stop in LA, but it all begins there.
