  “When my dad was in Vietnam, he read this book to me on tape and sent me the book, the tape, and a tape recorder so I could hear him read it to me. I promptly destroyed the tape recorder because I thought he was inside it. It has always been one of my favorites, but now I don't get the urge to smash electronics when I read it.”
