BryTa edited the themes of The Scarlet Ibis (Classic Short Stories) Thursday, February 16, 2012.
- Added a theme: Scarlet Isis: The Scarlet Isis that appears in the story symbolizes Doddle. The Scarlet Isis was from South America and journeyed far to get to Doodle and Brother's house only to die once it got their. Like this Doodle had a long journey of learning how to do things despite his disability, yet then he dies. The red feathers of the bird represents the blood coming from Doodle's mouth and nose when he dies; the way the bird moves also coincides with Doodle's disabilities.
- marked the description of Scarlet Isis as a spoiler
