“I heard so much about Rushdie and the controversy surrounding The Satanic Verses (which I haven't read) that when I came across Haroun and the Sea of Stories I expected something profound. I kept hoping to get sucked in to the story but found myself floundering to grasp its substance. Can't honestly say that I enjoyed the book; in fact, I actually feel like I missed something.”
