A book with multiple levels. And I would say one of the easiest of rushdies books to understand.
A fabulous must-read book for Rushdie's fans. Very different from his other books
I agree. I think that this book had no appeal. I felt like I was listening to Salman Rushdie babble.
Hey,
I found this book boring and repetitive.
I'd say definitely. But it is a fable. It's a story in the same vein as most good children's stories...that adults love them too. I'd read this book to my kids.
I thought that this book was short but had the essence keeping the book interesting and a bit suspenseful.

I thought that the book was easy but the book was good overall.
i've never quite liked rushdie... always found his narrative style a bit hindi filmi but somehow i think he has given me enough reason to try reading him after this one & satanic verses... & yes it is a fairy tale bordering on the edges of indian/asian fantasy narratives... like that of ali baba & the forty thieves or arabian nights/alif laila... good read
btw... he apes marquez's aesthetics of magic realism... so, i understand, he's not a very difficult read...
I smell another 3D movie...it seems to be generating from this book's info page.
