Absolutely one of my favorite books. Oscar Wilde's trademark humor blends with an almost satirical-level of Gothic darkness and an overwrought vocabulary that almost made me to set the book down. Almost. I'm so glad I didn't.

Eh. We all know that vanity is bad and that the bad have more fun, so the story got to be a bit of a drag toward the end. I prefer his short stories.
