“I thoroughly enjoyed this book. McCullough's prose is flowing and intense. I don't generally enjoy history books, but this is a must-read. America in 1776 was a far more raw, far more interesting place than I had thought. McCullough does a great job of analyzing Washington as man and leader. Every highschooler should read this to gain a better understanding of how our nation began.”
