Have to love the way McCullough writes. This was especially interesting to me because I live on Long Island. Had no idea that so much of the Revolutionary War in 1776 happened in the New York Metro area.

Very accurate history, but very dry book. His others are much more interesting to read.

The history of the founding of our country is fascinating! McCullough has done a masterful job of detailing one perilous year when luck, skill and determination were key to the founding of the United States

This book should be required reading for every person who lives in America. No, seriously.

It's astonishing that the feeble continental army was not blown off the face of the earth, but rather took on and eventually defeated the British empire. This is an AWESOME book.

I read the first of three parts. If you like history, you will like this book. If you don't like history, you probably won't like this book. It was not my favorite.

A good read but I did expect more time to be focused on the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Slow going at the beginning but by the end was quite entrancing.
