This series was much more developed than her first series, "Mother Earth, Father Sky." The characters were much richer in my opinion and the story more appealing.

Prehstoric novel of the early people living in the villages in what is now known as Alaska. Sue Harrison carries you into a tangle of lives intertwined by love, hate, courage, and the determination to survive.
    Great book to read.

Sue Harrison is a master of character development. This is an amazing tale weaving together the strengths and weaknesses of the human condition. She reminds us that we aren't so unlike our hunter/gatherer ancestors.
