Very enjoyable book when you get past a few things:
-Michael Crichton is a bit pompous and self-absorbed... but, he's Michael Crichton, I probably would be too.
-This book covers adventures that some of us who undertake more self-inspired pursuits might find a bit tame.
-The rest of the travels in this book are those of the mind / spirit. You have to go in with an open mind to enjoy Crichton's exploration.

I personally love the open, honest, and, sure, self-centered exploration that Crichton shares. Each pursuit of new vision or insight into life's meanings is entertaining and enlightening when approached without preexisting perspective.
