It is the near future where amazing technological advances in genetics research occurred. A company known as SimGen has created a species called SIMS, part chimpanzee and part human, which are used as slaves. One day a sim golf caddy named Tome and his fellow 'employees' at a golf course wish to unionize. They approach the lawyer Patrick Sullivan to represent them and he wonders whether or not sims should be entitled to human liberties.

Patrick meets Romy Cadman, an activist for sims' rights, and a mysterious masked man called Zero, who is seeking the downfall of SimGen. As the trio try to protect the sims while attempting to give them rights, they almost uncover a sinister secret in SimGen. Now they are constantly on the run as unknown people seek their death.
