The writing is beautiful and lyrical. The whole book is poetic and the story is compelling. I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Ms. Whitcomb's work.

Just finished this book - for a book club meeting next month. I enjoyed it a great deal and can't wait to discuss with the rest of the group. We read Lovely Bones by Anne Sebold earlier and I think this is a great comparative novel and should lead to some great discussion. Nevertheless I did find that the story wrapped up/resolved itself a little too neatly and far too quickly in the end chapters - it made the earlier character struggles seem a bit overdramatic. Nevertheless I did enjoy the story and Laura Whitcomb's writing and I look forward to her future titles.

Loved this book. She definitely needs to write more, she has a fluidity and clarity to her writing. Her plots were well thought out and detailed, original and masterful. Could not put this one down.

This was such an awesome story of the love between two kindred souls. Granted they were both dead souls thus the twist of this love story. I could not put the book down and I hope that they will make this one into a movie :)
