“This book very interesting of the adventures of a boy that was very smart. I think he should have listened to his brother and not disobyed the rules. I think that he is a bit arrogent and he thinks his brain is really smart, it is but i think he uses it too much.
I engoyed reading this book.”

John's big brother is one of the biggest con men in the west and he is only a kid. He figures out how to turn a profit on almost anything and to always come out smelling like a rose...most of the time. This is a very funny book. John alternately admires and bemoans having a brother like Tom, who is known as "The Great Brain". For a really fun read, try this. It is a series that follows John, Tom, their big brother Sweyn, and the neighborhood kids as they grow up in Utah in the 1800's, so if you like this one, there are others. ”

John is the little brother of "the great brain" Tom. He lives in Utah and this story takes place the year Utah gains statehood. The boys are Catholics in a mostly Mormon town and Tom "the Great Brain" uses his great brain to swindle kids out of their allowances, save two kids lost in a cave and help a boy adjust to an injury. The story is told from John's point of view, which makes it even more interesting and unique. It would be a great book to read as a family or for kids who are just ready for chapter books, or adults who want a fun book to read quickly. I enjoyed it thoroughly and got through it in a day.”
