Perhaps a tad bit long, but it was refreshing to read a book narrated by a homosexual whose sexuality hardly factors into the plot at all. A tragi-comic tale of manners and all things from sexual politics to the trend-obsessed silliness inherent in our culture. Only an immigrant could see us so clearly. This is a brilliant first novel.”
