Philip Yancey has written a wonderful work on what grace is, how it differs from justice or ungrace and why we all need more of it. He dissects the word itself and its uses, how it has been misused and how it has been forgotten or buried in our lives.
Though the message he brings isn't exactly new, it is one which is easy to forget in the everyday bustle and hustle. This is a call to all people to remember to live in grace, but especially to Christians who have been so distracted by morality and busy work, we have forgotten our origins as bastards saved by grace. I plan to buy this book and reread it, the message is so important.

The collection of stories style worked very well for the topic of grace. This is Yancey at a less cynical level. Good book.

This book has been wonderful especially for me to think through as I've been here in the Philippines learning so much about this new culture. Yancy doesn't go into theology a whole lot but he does talk a lot about practical ways grace is or is not worked out in real situations. I recommend it, highly!

Yancey had the unique ability to put onto paper what most people struggle with internally. He had a great gift and I am so glad that he shared it with others.

This was an excellent book. Yancy provides an excellent analysis of the church and how it shows grace to the world. He offers practical solutions to the lack of grace in the church. He suggested that grace impacts every avenue of life even politics.

Using compelling real-life stories and a deep personal approach, this thought-provoking work gets to the heart of what grace truly is...and how much we need it!

This book challenged me big time! I am trying to walk in grace towards those who are outside the faith. The stories were moving--I recommend this book anyone!

This is probably one of the best books by Yancey that I've ever read! It got me seriously thinking about myself and my interaction with God and my fellow man. I used it as a study group book in college. We were all blessed. Plus I had the opportunity to hear Pastor Yancey teach on this in person. That was awesome!
