“Hiroshima by John Hersey is a non-fiction novel that follows the life of a few Hiroshima survivors. It explains in detail what happens pre, during, and post bombing. The book goes into detail about the effects the bombing had on them physically and emotionally as well.
Although, the book was interesting and gave me an insight to what life was like at the time of the bombing and how it affected everyone, I found it quite a slow read. It was possibly the intricate detail the book went into that made it hard to keep turning the pages. But the curiosity of the survivors lives made me want to keep reading and ignore how the book dragged on a little.”

This was assigned to my English class, and I didn't have the leisure of taking my time with this one, but I still liked reading it.”

In the beginning it tells where each of the six characters were when the atomic bomb exploded. From there it tells what happened to them after the bomb and for the rest of their lives. The beginning is very intense and graphic when it describes all the injuries and deaths from the bomb and it makes it even more intense knowing that it was real. The whole book has a serious tone and somewhat somber tone.”

It follows the real stories of six individuals who survived the bombing at Hiroshima. The "Aftermath" portion of the book is the most absorbing.”

A bleak and spare narrative follows several citizen on the day of the bomb being dropped and for months afterward. ”
