I decided to read a book and found that lots of people suggested this one. True to its reputation, Bryan explains the concepts in a very easy understandable way. I read this book some 3 years back but I still remember the concepts like story telling aperture, who cares aperture and stuff like that vividly.
The way how ISO works is explained is simple yet brilliant. Almost all the concepts are explained in similar fashion.
It is a must read for an aspiring photographer who is not technically sound with the basics of photography.

The section on exposure in John Shaw's Nature Photography Field Guide is far more useful.”

It should really be required reading before you get an SLR (or rangefinder, or in fact any camera that has more than one button/dial/slider on it)”
