“Pretty good. Max Lucado writes in a very readable way. His illustrations of Biblical principles are funny and entertaining. He works current day parables to mirror the parables of Jesus's time.

Half the book is a study guide, which I didn't use but looks like it would be helpful to doing a Bible Study of the book.
I do have to say if you are looking for deep Biblical scholarship, this isn't the book for you. If you are looking for an entertaining, encouraging read to pick you up when you are down, this IS the book for you.”

“I love Max Lucado and this is probably my favorite book he has written. I love the way it breaks down all the details of the crucifixion of Christ to really show how each and every bit of it was symbolic and for us. It is a very easy read and give a refreshing look at the love of Christ for you!”

“A perfect book for reading on Good Friday. Lucado breaks down the parts of the passion narrative and relates them to your life. Easy to read chapters, straight to the point. I have a choice just like the two robbers on the crosses on either side of Jesus. Jesus chose not to numb his pain to show that He feels my pain. He chose the nails for me!”

“The first Max Lucado book I ever read.It' s a great reflection on the cross, not just for Easter, but at any time of the year when you want seriously to think about the full extent of God's deep love for you. ”
