“ Mr. Was is a fiction book. This book takes place in a small town in Missouri at the time of the 1940's and the 2000's. The main character is a teenager named Jack Lund. One major plot event is that Jack goes through a secret door in a mansion that takes him back in time in the 1940's. When Jack's first experience though the door, he did not know what to do. His second experience through the door, Jack stays in the 1940's to finish his life and get away from his parents. The door in the mansion was a door that can bring people to the past and people can experience how it was like in the past in the small town. The door that can bring you to the past is hidden in the mansion and was barricaded. Jack tried a lot of things to get in it and when he does, his life changes a lot.
There are some of positive and negative aspects of this book. One of the positive aspects of the book is that everything was a mystery and Jack had to solve it. One part of the book, Jack goes into a war in WWII and he ends up almost dying and loses his memory. He also lost his dog tag, which means that no one knows who he is and no one can identify him. Jack Goes through weird things after the war and when he gets to an old age, he finally starts getting weird memories when he was a little kid. One of the negative aspects of the book is that the author of the book did not explain much what Jack's father looked like. Also some characters were not that much explained what they looked like too. Overall this book was really good and I enjoyed it.”
